About Cookie
Hi Everyone,
My name is Cookie and I am far from being a monster lol.
I am a 15 month old Pug x French Bulldog, with some Beagle in me. I'm young, cheeky and energetic so my future home will have to be committed to exercising me on a regular basis. I am looking for my furever home with a family that will continually love me and guide me along the right path so I can have the best life and be the best that I can be. I have grown up with kids in the house so I am kid friendly, though I may be a bit nervous initially when meeting new humans. In saying that, I do warm up quickly to them.
My current foster humans are teaching me right from wrong at the moment and I can see myself improving every day, although at times I like to keep them on their toes and show my cheeky and naughty side. This is when sometimes they call me Cookie Monster, haha. I already know sit, drop and stay when asked to do so and when they call me I come to them and I can see how happy they are when I do that the first time. This is a work in progress, as at times I can get easily distracted lol. For the most part I walk nicely on lead but sometimes I can be a little pushy and pull a little on the lead. I'm learning that this is not the way to walk but when I walk nicely I get lots of praise which I looooove. :)
I am an inside and outside dog, and I'm toilet trained at my current foster home. I'm yet to do one mistake when it comes to that. I am crate trained and when inside the house I like to relax and either just chill out on a dog bed (thanks to my foster sister for letting me) or sometimes I just stroll into my crate and sleep while my humans watch telly. I am very good inside the house and never make mistakes when it comes to boundaries even when it’s the kitchen where or cats are wandering. I always wait to be invited up onto the couch and I really love this when my humans invite me as I enjoy falling asleep on their lap. I even wait to be invited into their home when they open the back door. Sometimes I get excited and run inside but I get in trouble for that. Not even my cuteness will get me out of anything. When I do spend some time outside for the most part of the day I am very relaxed and sleep but at times I can get vocal and bark a little bit. I have been improving with this as foster mum and dad have explained to me that nuisance barking is not tolerated. My future family will have to understand that this is not an overnight fix and patience and continual training is required. I sometimes sook for attention when my humans are home and I want them to let me in, but it doesn't work. Sigh.
I'm very good with the cats that I'm living with and when they run around I sometimes get curious as to what they are up to. Doesn't happen very often but once in a blue moon I might try and chase them to play but I'm quickly reminded that this is unacceptable behaviour. No harm in trying right? Haha! I would be ok with a cat to live with, hope they would like me too.
I am dog friendly and I get to play with dogs all day long, which is fun but at times I can get a little rough. My current dog family has a range of sizes and temperaments and I seem to be more relaxed with the older bigger dog but have loads of fun with someone the same size, age and playfulness. My foster mum and dad are teaching me to play nice and that rough play is not allowed. So if my furever family has a dog it would have to be a case by case scenario to see if it would be a good mix for me.
So could you be the family that I have been waiting for?? Due to the fact I am so young, and sometimes naughty I would love for my new humans to continue the training that they have been giving me and guide me along the right path. If you think you might be a good fit for me, send me an email and I’ll send you an application form.
Love Cookie!
