About Fred
My Name is Fred
Fred is picking up basic commands already. We have worked on “sit” and “come” and he’s responding wonderfully to positive reinforcement when learning these commands.
He loves liver treats and is very cuddly. He is always wanting belly rubs and pets behind the ears.
He gets along well with his foster brother. He’s not food aggressive and he’s happy to follow his foster brother around and learn the ropes.
I think being on the farm, he LOVES to lie in the grass. Loves it! And he will only do his business on the grass.
He’s sleeping inside on his own bed in our bedroom and sleeps through the night. When he old foster brother wakes up during the night to go to the toilet, he will come outside with us and follow us back to the bedroom when he’s done.
He’s just discovering toys and is learning how to fetch.
He knows his name and is learning very quickly. With time, love and training I think he will be the perfect doggie companion 😊
Currently not tested with cats or children.
Adoption details
If you should choose to adopt a dog from SEQ K9 Rescue:
You will be asked to complete an adoption application.
Completing this form helps us to determine if the dog is suited to your circumstances. Some dogs have special needs so we are looking for the perfect forever home for all of our dog's needs.
After you have completed and returned the adoption application we decide if you are a good match for the dog you are applying for. Sometimes we may recommend another dog we have in our care.
Next, we will arrange for you to meet the dog/puppy.
We ask that bring along your family and any other animals you have in your household. A yard check (or yard photos) will be checked and only then will approval be considered.
Please remember sometimes there are several applications for the same dog so this process may take up to a week.
The adoption fee must be paid before any of our animals are released from our care.
We also offer a 2 week trial period - if you have any issues with your chosen dog/puppy you must contact SEQ K9 Rescue via text immediately.
If for any reason the dog needs to be returned to the rescue organisation, the adoption fee minus a $50 non-refundable deposit will be refunded. Your refund will be returned via bank transfer within 10 working days.
If the pet is returned after the trial period generally no refund will be made.
Interstate adoptions may be requested to supply additional information and photographs of the proposed environment for the animal. Interstate adopter must pay transport costs in addition to the adoption fee.
If an animal is to return from an interstate adoption, the adopter is to pay all costs to return the animal to SEQ K9 Rescue in Brisbane.
