About Buddy ~ 1.5 year old Rottweiler (on trial 23/3/18)
Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 1.5 year old male Rottweiler. Buddy is a dream dog and also dog, cat and child friendly. He doesn’t dig, bark or jump and he knows how to sit. Buddy longs for an active, fast paced family who has the time and energy to keep him busy.
Buddy is a very clever pooch that thrives for attention and he would love a family that can provide him with some further behaviour training and even teach him some tricks. Buddy can become scared or shy when people use loud or deep voices towards him so positive reinforcement training will work effectively with him.
Buddy is very affectionate but he suffers from separation anxiety so he would be suited to a family where there is someone home full time. He would love it even more if he had a friend to play with, so if you have a medium/large pooch, Buddy would love to meet them.
Buddy is an inside/outside dog. He loves playing with his toys and puppy pals in the yard, and on hot days, this water baby loves to chase the sprinkler and hang out in his clam pool, but his favourite thing to do is to hang out and play with his human friends. This means that Buddy must have human play time and/or a walk per day. He must also have inside access available to him at all times so he can feel safe by his family’s side.
Buddy currently sleeps inside on his own bed, close to his current foster family so that he feels safe. This ensures he has a good, quiet nights sleep. Buddy gets a bit anxious when left at home alone so he will need to have toys and treats to keep him busy. Another dog friend would be perfect. Buddy can also be a fussy eater, so his prospective adoption family must be willing to continue with his current easy meal plan. Because of Buddy’s size and because he is still young, he can be a bit clumsy which means he would be best suited to a family with children 10 and over.
If you feel as though you have the time energy and patience for Buddy and you would like to meet him, or if you want any further information, please contact Donna on Timmypebmilo@hotmail.com or 0466 099 426. Buddy is in foster care in Buttaba, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Buddy’s adoption fee is $650 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
