About Holly ~ Shar Pei x ~ On Trial 11/8/18
Hi I’m Holly - a pretty faced and fluffy 3.5 year old Shar Pei Cross who is full of spunk. I am a lovably quirky girl who often gets called Holly or Molly , Holly-Molly or even Holy-Moly if I get up to mischief!
Although I’m cute as a button I’m certainly more than just a pretty face. I’ll be up front and say that I need a bit of work on my lead training and socialisation with other dogs as I think most dogs are just a little bit pesky! I’m not afraid to speak my mind and have a good bark at other dogs when we are out walking (which can be a little embarrassing at times - oops sorry!) I am trying very hard to be a good girl and am improving so I’d love to be adopted by someone who will continue to focus on my lead manners and positive canine socialisation.
I’m not a dog-park kind of a gal - but with positive training maybe one day I could learn that playing with other dogs is fun too? I live with a small dog now and we happily co-exist in the same house - but we don’t really play and ignore each other most of the time. I’m more of a people-pooch anyway.
My favourite things in the world are getting love and cuddles from my foster family and chasing the local possums when they taunt me from high up in the trees! So if you have a possum, cat and pocket-pet free home and lots of cuddles for a new four legged best friend (that’s me!) then I’d love you to bits. I’d enjoy a small to medium sized fenced yard to catch some sun in during the day (especially if you go to work). I’d love a short to medium length walk each day to keep me happy and healthy - I’m at my happiest when I’m by your side so am content to walk with you no matter how far you want to go.
When I first came into foster care I was a bit of an attention-hog as I didn’t have a routine and hadn’t been taught to share the love I received. But with boundaries I’ve learnt that the bed and lounge belong to my humans and I’ll happily stay off the furniture (most of the time!). I’m also good at sharing cuddles now as I know I won’t miss out. I live with two children 8 and 11 years and I adore them both.
If you are looking for a loyal and endearing new best friend, you have no other pets and are willing to commit to my future training and well-being then please contact Jo on jo.payne.aus@hotmail.com .
Holly is currently in foster care near Wyong on the NSW Central Coast. She is not available for interstate adoption.
Holly's adoption fee is $450 and includes her desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
