About Penny DL1853
Penny loves to be with you, especially for cuddles and snuggles. She is a mostly indoors dog, though she enjoys being outdoors with you too and does her best to ‘help’ you in the garden, trying to chew on weeds and sticks or stalking around in the tall shrubs playing "Tiger in the Jungle"!
Penny loves to chase a strong rubber ball (tennis balls or plastic balls will not cut it, she will make light work of those).
Penny’s new owner must be committed to continuing her training and helping her to become more confident and comfortable around people, as strangers frighten her. It does take time for Penny to warm to new people so you should be patient when working with her.
She is much happier with human females than males, but any-one approaching after dark makes her scared. Penny is very protective of the person she bonds with. She is an ideal match for a female-only household (or with a kind & confident male who is able to give her space) and is not suited to children. She is okay meeting smaller dogs but is scared of larger ones. In her home, she prefers to be your only dog, and is not suited to cats or birds.
She loves her soft toys, but not ones that squeak. Have a washing machine that steals a sock from each pair leaving its mate lonely? Penny will happily give the single sock a home in her toy collection!
Penny loves car rides and is learning that walkies doesn’t always mean a car ride first. Penny has been quick to learn a “bye-bye biscuit” means she’s not going with you and upon your return welcomes you with a very waggy tail and a toy/sock/ball.
If you have the perfect home for this quirky but precious little lady, please email us today to apply!
Medical notes
As with all Cocker Spaniels, Penny’s new owner should be vigilant when it comes to ear health.
Penny can be prone to ear infections especially the left ear. If she gets any kind of water in it and it isn't cleaned out it can lead to a very nasty infection.
At her last appointment for an ear infection, they also did full blood work on Penny and she was in otherwise great health.
