Billy and Jazz
These two cuties are a seriously bonded pair. Billy has lived with Jazz all his life. And they look out for and after each other in the most lovey way.
Billy is a youngish, energetic Maltese Shitzu fella – with lots of enthusiasm. He loooves his people, he loves to run and play, loves his walks (he does tend to pull on his lead, but this is improving), but he loves his cuddles most of all. Billy will be the first onto your lap and loves you to rub his belly at most opportunities.
Jazz is a tiny little older gal who also loves her lap cuddles. But don’t let appearances fool you – Jazz is still up for a quick wrestle with Billy (who is twice her size), she bounces along on her daily walks, and loves putting her head out the car window to catch the wind in her hair and all those delicious passing smells. Jazz can be shy to start – but once she knows and trusts you the love comes pouring out – she loves to touch noses to say hi.
Billy and Jazz are both toilet-trained, happy as indoor/outdoor dogs and love to sit on the couch with you. And your couch (not to mention your best jacket) are safe because these two fluffies don’t shed! What’s not to love?
They are both good with other dogs (once they have met them), and great with kids – but given Jazz’s small size and age it would be best if they didn’t live with kids under 7. They have been living with secured chickens while in foster care – and this has been fine as long as the chickens are behind a secure fence. They have not been tried with cats, however Billy loves to run and if a cat runs he will probably chase. If you’re cats are chilled around dogs I believe they would learn to live together.
These two are a double bundle of fun, love and cuddles looking for a permanent home. They lost their first home through no fault of their own, and they will slip easily into your relaxed lifestyle.
Billy and Jazz are currently in either West Brunswick or Bass Coast.
Health notes:
Billy is 7 years. He has no medical requirements – except weight control!
Jazz is 14 years. She still has plenty of pep. However she has a couple of older gal health issues:
She has sub-luxated patella's – but the vet says she has learnt to manage this and does not recommend surgical intervention. It does mean she can be a bit wobbly on her back legs at times, but it doesn’t affect her getting around or loving her (not too intense) walks.
She also has dental disease, and the vet believes she will be much happier with her teeth removed. SODR has made an appointment to do this. She currently eats mostly wet food, so this will have little effect on her diet.
