Jackson is a lovely tall boy. He has such a beautiful nature. He loves the other foster dog in his home. And he was so sweet with the foster kittens that were humbugging him at the SAFE branch while he was waiting to go to his foster home. Jackson isn’t bothered by the little chicks in the backyard either. He lacks some confidence at this early stage of his care, but is a loving boy and will make a beautiful pet.
Jackson’s tail is healing and now that he has a good and reliable diet, the usual Nexgard treatment and feels SAFE in care, we’re expecting his coat to thicken up and become glossy :)
Want to know more about how to train Jackson to be the best pet he can be? Dogs need five - ten minutes daily of daily ongoing training to learn and practice the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. This will mean he is always primed to obey what you tell him to do. Consistent, clear boundaries will mean that he always knows the right way to behave. And of course, socialising with lots of people, dogs and other animals is important too - a gentle pace for Jackson will build his confidence. Getting out and about to exercise at least once a day is vital as it is stimulates the brain, tires out the body, and creates opportunities for socialisation. It stops dogs from creating mischief at home!!!!
A few hours flying is absolutely worth it for remotely located animals if it means they have the opportunity to be adopted. Jackson’s airfare to Perth is $150 thanks to SAFE and a discount from QANTAS, and he can fly elsewhere in Australia too.

All applications are considered when they are emailed to broome@safe.asn.au or sent via the Pet Rescue links.
The more information you can provide us in these applications reduces having to ask for more information, as this allows our Co-ordinator Team to choose the best options for each individual pet.
