About Tex
Tex requires a very special human could that be you?
Sadly our boy was stuck right in the middle of a broken relationship. Hurting him was the best way to get back at the partner. The abuse too cruel to share, we now simply want someone with the patience to allow Tex to learn to trust again.
Tex is best suited to an experienced owner in a home with no children.
It is important you move with confidence being cautious to respect his fear and the reaction it brings. While you cannot rub/love/smooch or cuddle Tex, you will be rewarded with lots of talking and if you give him time you may get a hesitant kiss on his terms when they sneak out, it really make you smile.
There is no quick fix, for building Tex’s confidence, but we believe that his new human is out there and the sooner we find them the better.
Everyday is progress, there are so many amazing positives about this dog. He is a bit ball obsessed and uses his paws like hands to flick the ball back to you. We use this to our advantage when we can see he is feeling very uncomfortable with a situation. He has a smile that can light up a room and he loves to converse with you about his day. While his foster carers are at work he stays inside for up to 12 hours, he has amazing ability to hold on and not relive his bladder until he greets us hem and is then let outside.
Right now Tex lives with 3 other dogs and after being introduced appropriately they all live with a healthy respect of each other.
He is living with 5 cats and he’s only had a couple of momentary lapses in judgement, when the silly kitten thought it could sprint across the room instead of the slow stylish cat waddle necessary to not bring attention to itself!
His foster mum has a dog daycare centre and he has been several times and is fine hanging out with a couple of non reactive dogs. Which is fantastic positive prgress.
There is lots more we can share but we promise Life with Tex will be rewarding and heartfelt. Don’t hesitate, contact act us now.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
