Honey is as sweet in nature as her name suggests!
She has been moved about a lot already in in her young life and this has left with her some separation anxiety. We are looking for that special forever home for her so that she will feel secure and flourish. She has already changed so much since she came to us - there is nothing like a feeling of security to ground a dog so you see their real personality.
Honey's ideal home would be where there is at least one of her people around during the day, and when they go out they can sometimes take her with them as she is great in the car, once she is secure enough with you that she knows you are not taking her somewhere to leave her yet again! She also would love to continue being exposed to other dogs, either with regular companions on walks and in the park, in obedience class or perhaps with the right canine companion. She is fine going with you in the car and happy to wait for short periods.
She is settling into life in foster care and is an energetic and playful pup enjoying a long walk with her dog friends. She is keen to meet new human and dog friends and play with her squeaky toy and tug rope. She loves to play games with you and is very intelligent. She would love a job to do - even bringing in the newspaper from the front garden every morning! Or learning how to fetch or search!! If you are interested in agility, or any of the fun activities you can do with your dog she would make an ideal partner.
She would be good with an older family but would not suit a boisterous household. She is a gentle girl and needs to be treated that way â with patience and consistency so she is reassured.
Honey shows all the best traits of kelpies â their high intelligence, keenness to learn and high energy and the lab gentleness, loyalty and food drive make her so easy to teach; and - not that it matters - she is so pretty too!!
Most importantly she has an abundance of love to give to the right family who will cherish her once they see her beautiful face and great manners.
Honey would not suit a home with a cat.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adoptersâ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
