About Mia
Mia I Alakan Malamute I Female I 6.5 years
Paws down, our girl Mia is just about the snuggliest Malamute girl you’ll find! She will literally hug you when you lay down with her!
There is no puppy shenanigans to worry about with Mia, her days are filled with the important business of naps and deciding which toy to play with. Once carefully selected, fetch with said toy (squeaky ones are the best!) is a the name of the game. She actually will even repeatedly bring it back to you and drop it - yes, you heard correctly! A Malamute that plays fetch properly!
Mia is a very chilled out lady, happy with the simple things in life. A bucket of water to put her paws in, a morning chat, short walks, breakfast by 8am. This last part is important- she will tell the whole neighbourhood if she hasn’t had her breakfast!
She’s working hard with her foster family to lose a few kilos, but promises still to be as cuddly as ever even when she’s trimmed down. She’s never going to be an athlete, but loves her walks and has wonderful manners on lead. Mia has a heart murmur, which doesn’t impact her daily life at all and doesn’t require any treatment, but for that reason she prefers a couple of short walks per day, as opposed to one long one. No intense activity for this lass.
Mia has previously lived with another dog, but in typical Mally girl form, was a bit of a bully. She now needs a home where she will be the only dog, so all the attention can be lavished on her. Her exposure to kids is limited, so any children in her new home would need to be older, as youngins may be a bit to rambunctious for an mature lady like herself.
Currently Mia is attending obedience classes where she is learning appropriate manners and greeting skills with other dogs. She’s never going to be a dog you can take to the dog park as she likes to boss everyone else around, but she knows how to behave like a lady on the lead - unless you are a possum. Then all bets are off!
So if you’re looking for a easy going, playful, huggable, typical Mally girl, Mia is waiting to meet you!
