About Taj
FOSTER OR ADOPTION
Taj | Siberian Husky | 22 months old
Located Vic
Nutmeg is a delicious sweet spice that most people adore as part of their special occasion cooking, immediately conjuring up warm memories of time spent with family and friends. When it comes to the warm embrace of our loved ones, nutmeg often plays a role.
On that note, Homes for Huskies would love to introduce Taj, a nutmeg-coloured happy and friendly husky who is looking for a warm embrace and daily exercise in a new family of his own.
Taj is still a young husky at less than two years old, and has a long, healthy life ahead of him. An unusually handsome boy, he’s got a stunning warm brown coat and two ice-blue eyes. He’s a head-turner indeed!
Taj loves being the centre of attention, he loves his walks and thinks humans are amazing! He loves spending time around his people and chooses to sleep inside. I mean, why risk missing out on any of the action?
He’s warm and loving, and has been privately surrendered through no fault of his own. He is now with Homes for Huskies as his previous family have four kids and can't give him the time he deserves, and they want him to be truly happy.
Taj is still a teenager, so he can get a touch over enthusiastic when he gets excited. He walks very well on leash and is house-trained, but he’s not enjoyed formal obedience training and would LOVE it if his humans did some work with him in this area.
We mentioned that he’s good on leash and loves his walks? That’s true. He’s also a very typical husky that, if left off leash in a non-fenced area, the last thing you’ll see of him is his furry butt disappearing into the distance. Taj is a husky who need to be kept safe and secure, which he doesn’t mind at all, because it means he’s closer to his humans!
Taj would suit being an only dog or he would love a buddy. If there is another dog in the home, Taj would need an experienced person to help him learn to live with another dog.
Taj being a teenager, he doesn’t know his own strength so he is not good with small dogs, and he is much better with the dogs his own size at the dog park. He’s also experienced children of all ages in a growing family, and is quite tolerant of kids aged five and up.
Taj only barks on special occasions, such as when he’s very excited or has had a frighten. He’s a quiet dog overall and is just looking to share his love, and spend time with his people. He would be ideal for someone or a family who are either home a lot or can give him time.
He deserves exercise, some training to keep his mind active and most of all, love, which he will return in spades.
Taj isn’t much of a hole digger (in fact, he’s only recently started out of boredom) who can easily jump low fences, so the usual husky rules apply to having secure, high dig-proof fences, and no pocket pets. He’s not cat-friendly, so do keep that in mind if you’d like to apply for him.
