About Ted (CaV18-52)
Hey there, my name is Ted. I've got quite the story to tell about what has happened in my life recently, although my carer only knows a bit of it and I haven't mastered the English language yet to tell you the whole lot.
What is known: I lived most of my life in a tiny town in the Wheatbelt called Shackleton. I lived at the local post office/general store and was pretty well known around town! If I like the customer, I would just laze around on the counter while they were at the store, waiting for pats or maybe a little piece of ham. If I didn't like the customer who came in, I would wander off indignantly and wait till they were gone.
I should point out that I liked most people!
Now, my dad (who owned the store) sadly got really old and not very well so now he lives at a care facility in Perth. And this is where some parts of my story get a bit sketchy.
I was picked up by the Rangers when I was found hanging out at the Corrigin hotel. If you're not up on your WA geography, Corrigin is a solid 80kms from Shackleton. No one knows whether maybe my Dad gave me to someone in Corrigin and then I got lost - or whether maybe I hitched a ride with someone without them knowing and then hopped out at the hotel.
It's a secret I'm not sharing!
Either way, there doesn't seem to be anyone coming forward now who wants me back. Which kinda sucks, cos I loved working at the Store!
But I guess it's time for me to retire to a nice home now!
I'm a really friendly and easy-going boy. I like to chat a bit and I don't seem to mind other cats or dogs too much so just introduce me slowly and I'll be happy anywhere! I hope that you're my new family!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
