About Yahtzee (CaV18-32)
Hello there. My name is Yahtzee, and I'm a smoochaholic. I just can't stop smooching. I smooch people, other cats, furniture, door frames - you name it. Smooching really affects my life. It makes it hard to do anything else (although somehow I find time for all the important things like napping, snacking and looking out the window).
I've been told there is a twelve step program that can help me give up smooching but to be honest, I just can't imagine my life without it! I guess I'll just remain addicted to smooching.
Now, I know I look pretty rough around the edges but don't judge a book by its cover! Once upon a time I had a family who loved me - or I thought they did - but then they abandoned me to fend for myself on the streets. I've been living rough for more than 2 years now and that takes its toll. I'm banged up and scarred from getting beaten up by other cats. My coat is dirty and I've still got some particularly big wounds that are healing up.
BUT I'm a total softie. I just adore human attention and pats and cuddles - I've missed out on that while I've been on the streets and boy am I glad to have the chance to get spoiled the way I deserve. I'm a vocal, communicative cat who wants to be everyone's friend. If you have guests regularly and want a cat-butler to greet them at the door, I'm your man! Or if you live alone and you want to come home at the end of a long day and have someone to have a conversation with, then that suits me too.
In amongst all my fighting on the streets, I happened to pick up FIV (similar to HIV/AIDS in humans, though definitely not transmissible to people!)
There's just a couple of things you need to be aware of - mostly the fact that I must be kept 100% indoors at all times. I'm pretty chilled out about this because inside is where the food and cuddles happen! Although obviously I am also pretty used to living outdoors so you're going to need to be strict with me in the beginning and keep a close eye out so that I don't decide to wander out an open door.
I have been living with other FIV positive kitties in foster care and we all get along great so I think I could live with a feline buddy.
I'm really just the coolest dude around. Did I mention how handsome i am too? And also really really adorable. Lots of people say that a big bruiser can't be adorable but they're wrong, cos I am! You should definitely let me come to your house and pursue my smooching problem.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
