About Angus
Angus is a typical lab!
Everything is good in his world! He has a hinged bum that is constantly wagging and a big happy smile.
He loves to swim. Looooves water.
He’s is not above “swimming” in his water bucket if nothing bigger is available! We have been taking him to the dog pool, which obviously he loves, he even enjoys a bath with the hose afterward!
He also loves others dogs. He is learning not to be annoying to other dogs, with his cartoon-like enthusiasm and tries very hard to keep up with them when running. He’s not built like an athlete, but nobody told him that!
He is an easy going dog who takes new things well. He travels well in the car, eats anything that resembles food (no one can accuse him of being fussy!), walks well on his harness, will do anything for a tasty treat and loves his people thoroughly.
He is a little shy of strangers and is learning not to bark and play bow at them- he relates to new people as he would a new dog friend. It’s endearing but can be kinda loud to. So we are working on that.
Angus loves his toys and his blankets. He takes them to bed at night. He then snores gently until the people get up in the morning, like a good boy.
Angus would love a home where he can enjoy time walking and playing with his people. He loves to learn and would do well with someone who has an interest in reward based dog training. He also needs company. So either another dog or people who are home a lot. He will sleep happily when left at home but does get lonely if alone for long periods.
He is too “puppy brained” for young children or elderly people. He is a dog who may knock over an unstable person- and lick them when they are down! He really is a big puppy. He isn’t a chewed or digger but he does need to have his energy directed appropriately, so he doesn’t become a chewer or digger.
Angus doesn’t have a mean bone in his big black body. He is absolutely typical of his breed, with all the usual lab pup characteristics. Ideally he would go to someone with labrador experience but big bouncy puppy patience will suffice.
He is an absolutely lovely dog and will be a fantastic companion for his lucky new human.
Medical notes
Angus is a pedigree dog, who has been hip, elbow and eye screened. He is also desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
He is in slightly chubby, shiney, bouncy, perfect health.
