About Macey ~ Dane x Cattle Dog (on trial 17/3/2018)
Macey is a 9 week old Dane x Cattle Dog pup, who will be available in a weeks time. Macey is gentle natured and very sweet. She would rather snuggle on your lap then play with her mates. Macey will need plenty of exercise as she gets older and regular training and discipline to make her the best family member she can be. Macey loves human company and will quite happily sleep for hours on your lap. Not sure how she'll fit as she grows bigger!
Macey is a very healthy little puppy who has been raised in a home environment. She has been very well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs (small and large) and gets along well with them all. She's met lots of people and is friendly and affectionate with them.
Macey will grow up to be a medium dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Macey will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as she would be too lonely on her own. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
Macey needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She will be wonderful family dog and is suitable for children 8 years and older. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Macey's brother Pluto is also available for adoption.
As Macey is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Macey, please complete the adoption questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx and send it to her foster mum Kelly on adoptmefromkelly@hotmail.com. Macey is in foster care in Blue Haven, NSW.
Macey's adoption fee is $500 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
