About Paddy ~ Kelpie x Cattle dog (on trial 13-3-2018)
Paddy is a 11 week old Kelpie x Cattle pup. He is quite the smoocher and likes nothing more then to be picked up and have a cuddle in your arms.
He is a very healthy boy who loves his food so at 11 weeks isn’t a little pup.
Paddy hasn’t had any training but is so smart. He has already learnt to sit and come when called. He is also doing very well with his toilet training. Paddy would benefit from going to puppy training to learn the basics which he will excel at as ready to learn new things.
Paddy hasn’t long been separated from his mum and litter and was sleeping outside. Since being in care he now sleeps inside and will need to be allowed to sleep inside while still a pup. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Paddy will need a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as he would be too lonely on his own. It would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
He loves being around the family and follows you around and when sitting down curls up for a little nap under your feet. He will make a great family dog with children over 8 years old as at the moment he does jump up in excitement but is learning to sit for his pat. Paddy enjoys his family time and will need to be allowed to come inside for this.
As Paddy is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
If you would like to meet Paddy please contact his foster mum Sharron on 0423 331057 or email sstudley3@bigpond.com. Paddy is being looked after at Merewether Heights.
Paddy's adoption fee is $600 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
