About Titus HD1640
This stunning blue Great Dane is Titus. He’s a few months off 3 years old and starting to mature into a gorgeous boy with a beautiful loving nature. Even with very minimal to no training over his lifetime, he’s friendly with people and mixes well with other dogs. We are looking for a Dane experienced home who can fast track his training to bring his manners and lead training up to speed so he can be a model canine citizen. Titus hasn’t had the luxury of living indoors with a family but like most Great Danes craves this closeness and would thrive on being part of the family. His dedicated new owner will need to be patient with his training including taking the time to toilet train and show him appropriate ‘inside’ behaviour.
His favourite thing is water, he loves to swim in the ocean and the pool. In fact, he loves to play with any kind of water so he needs to have a pretty sturdy water bowl to keep it upright! A daily walk is essential for his wellbeing and if possible a swim for extra enjoyment.
Like any dog and even more so a giant breed, Titus needs a strong leader to give him lots of direction. Titus hasn’t had a lot of luck on his side to date so we are very keen to find a home for him with a proven track record with raising well-adjusted large dogs. Titus has huge potential but has catching up to do. A home with no children (to get jumped on initially!) is preferred to ensure Titus gets full attention and maximum training time.
Titus won’t be joining a home with cats due to the over exuberance he’s shown around them.
In foster care Titus is doing famously with other dogs of varying sizes but ideally medium to larger dogs will make for a better playmate should he join a home with another dog. Titus is untested with stock and would suit a property with 6-foot fencing.
Whilst Titus is quite an active boy, he most certainly has the gentle giant side which comes out at cuddle time. He lets out a unique and very contented groan whilst enjoying a scratch behind his ears.
If you feel you’re up for a challenge and some hard work with Titus, he’ll repay you in only the giant way he knows how. Don’t mind the bobo on his nose, he’s learning where not to stick that big snout and it’ll heal up in no time.
SAFE Hedland are working closely with the Great Dane Lovers Association of WA to find the perfect home for Titus. He is currently located in Port Hedland and unable to fly due to his size and lack of aircraft available to take a crate big enough. We are happy for him to travel by road with his new owner.
