About Deakie ~ Cavalier x Jrt (on trial 20/3/18)
Deakie is a Cavalier X Jack Russell terrier, but I can see some Beagle and Dachshund in him as well. Deakie weighs under 8 kgs and is only 14 months old, but very puppy looking with puppy tendencies, like jumping and grabbing your hand softly.
Deakie is currently training to be the perfect babe he could be. He gets on well with other dogs and would love to have an older furry pal to learn from.
Deakie hasn't had the best of experiences to date and is slow to trust to people, but when he does, he gives 100%. He is very loving, very excitable, very adorable!
Deakie is an open book, you can tell when he is happy and feels safe & secure by his forever wagging tail.
Deakie is great with children, but would be best with older school aged, due to his jumping. He hasn't been tested with cats and pocket pets. Deakie has learnt to be house trained with a doggie door and is doing very well. He is also is learning to sit and stay when asked.
Deakie is not a digger or escape artist, but Dog Rescue Newcastle require secure fencing as a standard requirement. Deakie is good on the lead and loves going for walks. He is looking for a BFF, someone to love him, train him and adore him. Are you looking for a BFF too?
For more information or to meet Deakie, please contact his foster carer Anne on anne4drn@gmail.com. Deakie is in foster care in Singleton, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Deakie’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
