About Tiger
Tiger is great little bloke. He weighs in at a solid16 kg, and is a great size for a family dog. Big enough to enjoy his walks and runs, but small enough to have a cuddle with. He is a dog who has naturally excellent manners. He is polite with the other dogs and tolerant of the puppies, playing nicely with his friends, and generous in sharing his bed with another dog. He loves chewing on a toy too. Tiger is a dog who likes to be with you, so he is great off lead and can be trusted not to run off. He knows his name and comes back very nicely when he is called. He is a very cooperative chap and aims to please. If he understands what you want him to do, he will oblige.
Tiger was born and has lived all his short life on a homeland outstation near Tennant Creek. He was happy and well cared for there with his owner and the other dogs. Just a small group of people living there in the bush. Unfortunately his owner fell foul of the law and has been incarcerated for a period. There was no one to care for the animals, so he asked his niece to organise for them to be rehomed, and that is how they came to us. The Vet nurse went and collected them, and they have made their way into foster care with the rest of the crew in foster. They were all a bit shy initially but now they are all integrated well with all the other dogs in care, and are loving being allowed inside and being included in family life. Tiger came into care with his girlfriends Buffy and Lola. They have already found their forever homes, and now it is gorgeous Tiger's turn.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Tiger's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Tiger is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
