Beau means ‘beautiful sweetheart’ and that is precisely what this lovely boy is. Beau is a majestic dog with a brilliant temperament. He is your everyday, garden variety gentle giant. Nothing much fazes him, be it people, noises or other dogs. He takes cranky dogs, friendly dogs and noisy dogs all in his stride (and his stride is very long and languid).

The three things that Beau likes in life are; a comfortable bed, pats & scratches on the head and food – in that order. He is such a king-like dog that he would probably enjoy a meal while laying down and having pats at the same time, thank you very much. All the same, if you’re too busy he’ll just keep up his snooze, no worries mate.

Beau adores children of all sizes, as well as adults. He lives in a foster home with a toddler who he follows around constantly. If you can’t find the toddler just look for Beau (and he’s not hard to miss!!). He is extremely gentle with kids and adults alike. He is respectful of space, doesn’t lick and responds beautifully to verbal corrections.

Living in a home environment is new to Beau but he is a very clean dog, naturally. He is still learning about walking on leads but has demonstrated good form so far. He enjoys a good cruise around the yard but isn’t a frisky or overly energetic dog, despite being young. So far he hasn’t shown an interest in toys or fetch, but home environments are new, so it may be an interest that he develops with time. He sleeps quietly on his bed during the night and even learnt to use a doggy door all by himself!

Beau does like to keep his humans in sight and would follow someone around the house, if he was allowed inside consistently. He has learnt to settle on his own, outside which is a good habit for him to have.

Beau would be a dog to suit most families or singles. He likes all kinds of people, likes other dogs and likes kids. That being said, he is such an affable character that he’d probably fit into most households really nicely.
