About Max
Max is a very handsome pure bred desexed male German Shepherd in care at Newcastle.
Max has been a much loved family pet but due to the owners ill health he has come into care and is in need of a loving home. Like all dogs Max likes treats, cuddles, going for walks and playing games, but above all meeting new people and especially meeting other dogs. Unfortunately, his enthusiasm can scare a timid dog, even though he has shown no signs of aggressive.
Although Max is fairly independent, he is happy to curl up at your feet as you surf the net or watch TV, and likes to Watch Inspector Rex. He is not destructive, but likes chew toys or chewing old shoes that are specifically given to him. So lots of playtime and stimulation is a must for this boy.
Max likes to be active and to be involved in family activities and is good with children as he has grown up around a family. Gentle, affectionate nature, but has a high prey drive and so would not be tolerant of cats or pocket pets (guinea pigs, rabbits). Max has shown he has a good appetite and will eat fruit and vegetables.
Max is an intelligent boy and quickly learns commands and wants to please he will bark on command and knows his basic obedience and is good to walk on lead.
Being a German Shepherd, Max craves mental stimulation and is eager to learn. He loves to experience new smells and eager to explore new places. He is alert and would make an excellent companion dog.
All of his vaccinations are up to date, and Max comes with a full vet history his pedigree papers, his bed and toys when he goes to his forever home.
Medical notes
Max is fully immunised is desexed and is on heart worm prevention and has been recently wormed.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
