About Taffy
SINGLE DOG HOME
NO CATS
No small children - sorry but I jump up on people & could knock young children over.
Hi my name is Taffy, sadly I need a new home because my lovely owner passed away. I had a rough time after loosing him because no one knew he had passed so I was left in the house for nearly two weeks until the police came, lucky I had a big bucket of water eh. I had to go to a pound for 2 weeks until friends could get me out and give me to SRV. Phew I was so pleased to get out of there and into proper loving care.
I’m a really happy little girl and even though I’m 9 yrs. old you wouldn’t know it because I’m as fit as a fiddle and act more like a 2 year old...lol
I’m a friendly tiny girl who would make someone a wonderful companion. I would like a home with someone around a lot as that’s what I was used to with my previous owner.
I had my behavioural assessment today and passed with flying colours.
Please read to the end of my profile to see how to adopt me.
Below are some notes on my behavioural assessment.
1. Affiliation – engagement and general activity level
Tester neutral standing: Even disposition, relatively calm but can become a little excitable. Is inquisitive to surroundings and likes to investigate.
Tester neutral sitting: Instigates touch and contact, wants to sit on lap, some shaking when you pat her
(perhaps a reinforced behaviour).
Result: Very sociable yet good levels of energy for an older dog
2. Obedience skills
Dog knows sit? Yes
Dog knows Drop (Down)? No
Other: Walks well on lead, responds to name eventually.
Note: Little to no formal obedience but relatively biddable.
3. Handling
Paws: Good
Body: Good
Ears: Good
Tail: Good
Mouth: Good
Hug: Good
Note: Tolerant of touch and restraint
4. Play / Arousal / Ability to Settle / Frustration levels
Result: Low to mid level arousal and play levels. Likes to chew toys.
5. Prey Drive (Tug Rope/ball/squeaky toy)
Result Good level drive for her age, enjoys a tug game but remains gentle and respectful
6. Food Bowl Resource Guarding
Result: Nil resource guarding and takes food gently from hand
