About Rusty ~ 5 month old Staffy X (on trial 16/3/2018)
Rusty is a fun 5 month old Staffordshire terrier cross who loves being a part of a family and thrives on attention. He socialises well with children and, when guided properly, other dogs and even cats. He can get over-excited during the introductions, simply due to his young age.
Rusty is toilet trained and lets you know when he needs to go to the loo, by standing at the back door and whining or pawing to draw your attention. He can also sit, stay, and lay on his bed when directed, but again he can get distracted due to his age.
Rusty loves playing fetch, tug-of-war, and playing with dogs, kids, and adults, and does not show any aggressive behaviour even with larger dogs. He is happy sleeping indoors or outdoors and can utilise dog doors with ease. Due to his young age, Rusty is easy to train and highly adaptable, fitting easily within a family environment.
Rusty would suit a home with children, families, or singles, as long as he is provided with stimulation or companionship to match his exuberance and age. It is recommended that Rusty be provided ample training and socialisation in order to allow proper development and integration into a loving home.
For more information or to meet Rusty, please contact his foster carer Jodi on jodideamer@gmail.com. Rusty is in foster care in Port Stephens area, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Rusty’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
