About Mollypossum ~ "Mystery Breed" (on trial 15-4-18)
Mollypossum is such a sweet girl - she’s always eager for pats and cuddles and has so much love to give. She’s a 2 year old medium to large mixed-breed curly-tailed smoocher. You can’t help but fall in love with her, she’s such a special girl. She’s so happy to be around people and is super affectionate with a joy for life.
Mollypossum is a very responsive dog, comes when called, learns basic commands easily and is very engaged with everyone around her. She has bonded really well with her foster brother, and they are excellent friends who play fabulously. She has great manners with other dogs, and makes friends everywhere.
Mollypossum is good with cats after introductions, will chase them if they run but that’s the extent of it - she treats them like dogs and will play chaseys and the mouthy/paw game with her foster mum’s kitten.
She LOVES the water, will jump in at any opportunity, likes fetch and tug (if she can be diverted long enough from cuddles), even does a little happy ‘I’ve got the ball’ dance on the way back to you…
Mollypossum is great with kids, loves them, and she’s very gentle. Sometimes she jumps up for cuddles on adults when she’s excited (improved a lot since we’ve had her), but I’ve never seen her do this to a child. Though they might still get kisses if she is at their face height!
Mollypossum’s ideal home would be as part of a loving family, with or without kids, with lots of affection and daily exercise. She would be fine as an only dog as long as her hours alone are within limits, or living with a doggy sister or brother. She needs to sleep inside at this stage, she’s been sleeping in the laundry with the outside door shut so she doesn’t go out to protect us all from night time noises…
Special Mollypossum bonus: wrinkly-faced smiles and dancing when she’s excited to see you. It will brighten your day and make you laugh every time. She is a fantastic dog: she’ll bring happiness and love to her new home.
For more information or to meet Mollypossum, please contact her foster carer Ellen on 0468655659 or ellen.foley55@gmail.com. Mollypossum is in foster care in Georgetown, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Mollypossum’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
