About Axel
Axel is very shy, despite his size & deep bark he really is a big sook. He will hide from strangers & does get a bit anxious, but we are working with him & he is getting more confidence in himself.
He cant tell us what caused him to be so scared of strangers, but once he gets to know you,( he does love his treats) he is very affectionate & loving. He loves his pats & cuddles & is very enthusiastic with showing how much he loves you once he is trusting of you.
Naturally he is very strong, & needs some one who is experienced & enjoys big dogs.
Medical notes
Axel is being treated with anti anxiety medication to help curb his shyness & worry when meeting strangers. He has never shown aggression or he would not be available for adoption, he just likes to run & hide in his kennel until the coast is clear & feels safe to come out.
The medication appears to be working as his confidence around others is improving.
Adoption details
If you would like to adopt a country pet there are a few requirements.
A chat with the foster carer is the first step to determine if the pet is the right one for you and your lifrstyle. A yard check while having a meet and greet is the next step and if all is satisfactory for all parties the adoption can go ahead.
The perfect home for each individual pet is essential, and the decision about which new home the pet goes to is made by the foster carer.
