About Special Needs Sadie
Sadie is an M E girl .. that means that she has Megaesophagus which is an enlarged esophagus.
This means that Sadie cannot cope with the way a dog would normally eat as the food is regurgitated straight away . However if Sadie s food is purreed ( takes 3 minuite s to make up her food) and she eats in an elevated position as in the pic (she prob needs to have a higher base she s getting so tall) then there is minimal to no regurgitation as long as she remains elevated for a few minutes after eating and is "Burped" :-) yes like a baby :-).
Sadie is a pure bred Dalmation and has come into rescue with us because of her M E condition and the fact that we had experience with another M E dog ..
As you can see she is growing up beautifully and is a good weight for her size Sadie does nt know there is anything wrong with her and is typically a fun loving girl that just love s life and loves people and other dogs she would be extremely happy to go to a home with another dog as she has always been around other dogs all her life, she especially likes Black and white dogs lol "surprise" but even little black pups are fun to... If there were other animals in the household you would have to be mindful of not leaving any other food around for her to eat.,but this can be successfully managed with a bit of planning ...
There is a marvelous FB page the Megaesophagus support group which has a wealth of useful information and there are so many M E dogs around the world its quite surprising .
Sadie is learning to travel in the car and is quite well behaved, she walks well on lead, also she is used to being inside a lot with her carer this is a requirement ,and sleeps on the floor next to the bed For more information please call Chris 0406612339 This beautiful girl is not that high maintenance but does require a dog lover willing to put in a small amount of dedication please do not apply if you are not prepared to do the bit of extra work she requires also another dog in the family will be necessary for her complete happiness Black and White be great but not essential :-)
