About Bassett
Hi everyone my names Bassett but the small people call me BASS... not that i can hear them calling me, I'm completely deaf, but that's ok i'm learning sign language and doing very well :) I can sit, wait and can come so far but that's just the beginning! the sky's the limit for me and i'm so eager to learn more!
I was found as a emaciated stray along with my brother, I was full of fleas and even had ticks sucking me dry, I was covered in ringworm so bad i had no fur left, I had cuts on my face and body and I really thought I wouldn't make it...It was touch and go there for awhile but I'm a strong and brave boy. I'm putting the past behind me and I'm moving forward now.
My road to recovery was a long one, As i was emaciated i was malnourished and I'm a bit on the small side, but for my small size my personality makes up for. I'm now back up to an ideal weight, and i'm thriving and looking fantastic! My fur has shine and i'v never been happier. I'm such an easy going guy i take everything in my stride and where you are is where i want to be.
I absolutely adore children, I respect cats and their space but if they want to play i'm all for that too :) I am very good at fetch and i bring it back every time for more its my favorite, I'm very social with other dogs and i love to play tug o war with them. Butt my most favorite thing to do ever is lay in your arms and have nice belly rubs its the most relaxing and my all time favorite thing to do. do you think you could be my belly scratching buddy?
Much love
Bass xx
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
So. Ready to roll? Then fill out the attached short form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox.
