About Queen Josie
Hello! My name is Queen Josie and I’m looking for a fur-ever family to treat me like royalty. I’ve had a bit of a rough start to life and a lot of my past is unknown, but I haven’t let that get me down and still have so much love to give.
I’m nearly nine years young, so prefer a slower-paced lifestyle and I need to be an inside dog. A single-storey home would be ideal, as stairs can be hard work for this old girl. I enjoy napping and spending time with my foster family, and I love snuggling in my foster mum or dad’s lap (I’m a big softie)! I like to play with my two foster fur-brothers, my squeaky toys (especially monkey, he’s my favourite) and my ball for short bursts, as I still have a puppy side, but then I’ll curl up for a snooze. I get on pretty well with other dogs once I get to know them, but I would enjoy a home where I can also have some one-on-one time with my humans. I’m not keen on a home with cats, as I don’t think I’ve made friends with any before and they seem like fun to chase.
I like small humans, but because I’m partially blind and deaf I can get a fright sometimes if I don’t see or hear you coming, so ones old enough to understand that would make the perfect skin-siblings! I have been working on my manners, especially with food, and toilet training. I will need a family with the patience to keep this up after I move in, but I promise I try really hard and have made a lot of progress in a few short weeks. Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks?! MBRC have helped me with some much needed surgery and vet treatment to get me happy and healthy, and some on-going medication and special care might be required.
In short, I’d really like to meet some loyal subjects who are looking for a special lady, to see out my twilight years. Despite everything I’ve been through, I still love people and want to find a place to call my own, where I can relax and enjoy my life.
Could I be the Queen you’ve been looking for?

Medical notes
Josie is microchipped, desexed and up to date with vaccinations. Since coming into care Josie has had all her additional medical needs attended to - teeth removed, treatment for her artiritis, surgery for her eyes and anti-biotics to treat a sore which has now healed. Josie will need some ongoing eye drops and medications for her arthritis from the lucky person who adopts her.

Applicants will be assessed in terms of best suitability for the dog. A meet & greet and yard inspection are essential parts of the screening process.
The first 2 weeks for every adoption is a trial period to ensure that both the dog and family are a good match. And once everyone is happy the dog's microchip will be changed across to the new family.
