Small Female Mixed Breed Dog

Riley is a tiny little thing, just 2 kg at 8 weeks old, but she is so confident and up for fun and games, even though the other dogs around might be 10 times her size! She really loves playing with the other pups in care and is quite up for a wrestle with the much bigger 4 month old puppy. No point trying to give her a cuddle unless she's had a good play and run around though - she is just too busy. Unless she is a bit tired, in which case she will snuggle in and have a lovely lap cuddle and snooze. She loves ferreting and exploring in the garden, and plays with the puppy toys inside. We may be speaking too soon but she is not a great chewing monster at this stage either. All in all she is a lively energetic dog in a very small package. She would make a great mate for another lively dog and would cope with a size difference, and would be a great kids dog too.
Riley came into care with 2 of her littermates, after being surrendered to the local Animal Control Officer. She was born in Ampilatwatja, but is now in foster care with her littermates and a bunch of other dogs and puppies in Elliott NT. Like her littermates she is very small and we would be surprised if she were to grow bigger than 10 kg as a fully grown dog. Riley is crated overnight with her littermates and sleeps through the night already, such a clever girl...
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Riley's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Riley is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption. We try hard to match the dog to the person, ultimately looking for the best fit for the dog. Shipping fees may or may not be included in the adoption fee, and this will be stated in the pet's profile.
