Lola

Lola is just so lovable. She is bombproof with people and with dogs - just has such a wonderful accepting nature. She really is the type of dog who wants to attach to one person and be their faithful companion. While she plays nicely with her mates, she mostly likes a quiet life and appreciates the comforts of a home, which she has never really had. She is particularly taken with the couches, and often to be found curled up asleep while life goes on around her. There is simply not room on the bed for her where she is staying, but odds on she would like that too. Lola is a very teachable dog who wants to do the right thing and is attentive to her human.

Lola was born and has lived all her short life on a homeland outstation near Tennant Creek. She was happy and well cared for there with her owner and the other dogs. Just a small group of people living there in the bush. Unfortunately her owner fell foul of the law and has been incarcerated for period. There was no one to care for the animals, so he asked his niece to organise for them to be rehomed, and that is how they came to us. The Vet nurse went and collected them, and they have made their way into foster care with the rest of the crew in foster. Lola is what we call a "Territory long dog" - a bit long and low to the ground. She is not very big either, weighing in at 14 kg. She is as cute as a button.

Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Lola's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Lola is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
