About Snowy
Snowy is clearly an adorable little girl, but we know that she is a real fighter as well. She was given to the Tennant Creek vet with her sister River. Unfortunately she was in perilous condition - very weak, so weak she could not eat or drink or even hold her head up. The vet kept her for a week, bottle feeding her, and caring for her in the Clinic and at home after hours. By then she was able to stand up and had started to eat, so she came to us for ongoing care. What a little trooper she turned out to be! She started eating well, then was able to be reunited with her sister. After a week she was able to come out and mix with the big dogs and older puppy. Now you would never know that she was so close to death in those early days. She is just the life of the party, and is just so confident and well behaved in the pack. Her early illness also helped her develop her cuddling skills, and she just loves a cuddle in front of the telly.
Snowy comes from Ampilatwatja, surrendered to the Shire animal control officer when they were visiting. We are so glad that her former owners sent her sister River with her because they have been a great comfort to each other. Snowy will be a small medium dog we think. She would make a great family dog, and would love to be involved in family life.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Snowy's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. She is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
