About Madison
The lovely Madison is very quiet and gentle in nature. While she loves to run around off lead and explore, she is very good at keeping her eye on her human and comes back very well if she is called. She is very good on the lead too, but if other dogs are off the lead she feels vulnerable, so best to let her off too in those situations. Maddie loves having a human to cuddle up to, and despite being a decent size, she likes to have a lap cuddle and can curl herself up to fit on a lap quite easily. She also likes it when her foster carer lies on the couch to watch telly - she will hop up and stretch out half on half off for an upside down cuddle and belly rub. Maddie likes couches very much and loves to sleep on the bed too. She has a delightful relaxed presence around the house, and can be quite talkative as well!
Madison was surrendered to the local Pound with her sister, after Council told her owners they had too many dogs. She was covered in ticks and not in very good condition. She was in the Pound for 3 weeks and was quite withdrawn when she arrived into our care. We understand that she had been attacked by another dog too, so she was initially very shy of the other dogs in foster care. Time has been a great healer for her, though, and she is now parasite free, looking really beautiful and is happy and relaxed. She has been well accepted by the other foster dogs and is now quite relaxed with them too. Her sister Juliette has already gone home, and now it is Madison's turn to find a best human friend. Maddie is such a sweet sensitive lady. She really deserves a wonderful loving forever home.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Madison's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Madison is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
Adoption details
We request that prospective adopters email us with an initial enquiry. We will forward an application form. On receipt of the application form, we will make phone contact to discuss the adoption.
