About Vera Mae the munchkin cat!
Vera Mae is a unique little munchkin cat. If Vera were a person, she'd be a cross between Hyacinth Bucket and Mrs Slocombe. If she had opposing thumbs, one would found her sitting in a rocking chair on a ramshackle porch crocheting blankets for the local Salvation Army store while she yelled in a croaky voice at passing children.
Vera wandered away from her home and was lost, ending up at the pound. Being a dignified lady from a bygone era, she did not cope with such facilities at all and luckily, was taken into care by Cat People. After such a horrible experience, we are determined to find the absolute best home for our Vera Mae. Her stubby little legs and perpetually disapproving looking face deserve only the finest of residence and company.
Vera's personality is... unique. She may only be 4 years old however, in line with the fact that she insists on wearing clothing akin to Scarlet O'Hara in Gone with the Wind, she appears older in every way. Her croaky voice and the fact that she actually talks, the way the markings on her face make her look angry and judgmental, the way she practically berates you if you don't provide her meals in a timely manner. In saying all of this, secretly Vera Mae wants nothing but love. She literally follows her foster carer everywhere; muttering grumpily about the resident dog and how he's stupid enough to think that she'll give in and play with him, making disparaging remarks about the state of the current Russian government and scathingly commenting on the length of Mary from across the roads' skirt...
In all seriousness though - Vera Mae is a velvety soft ball of chubby, grumbling love. The fact that she is a munchkin cat means that her legs are exceptionally short and because of this, she needs to be strictly indoors only - she cannot escape predators or danger like her long-legged sisters.
Vera will follow you everywhere. She will rub lovingly against your legs, she will curl up on you for cuddles and pats, she will sleep against the small of your back and purr so beautifully it will send you off into a meditative sleep. She will also get a case of the 'zoomies' occasionally. This is where, out of the blue she will start flying around the house like a lunatic, knocking over everything in her path and feverishly attacking cushions and cat trees.
If you think you can over this one of a kind lady a safe, loving home with lots of food then please get in touch!
P.S. Vera hates cats...
Medical notes
Vera has recently had some major dental work with some extractions (this can be quite common with pure breeds) and is a little overweight. We are working with the vets and carer to get her eating properly and get her weight down to take the stress off her back and legs, this regimen and regular vet checks will need to be continued by whoever adopts her.
Vera has been desexed, microchipped (microchip # 956000010292396), vaccinated, wormed and flea treated.
