About Ollie ~ Border Collie X (on trial 10/3/2018)
Ollie is a delightful Border Collie X, who is 5 months old. He is an energetic and fun loving young boy with a lifetime of adventures ahead when he finds his perfect forever family. Ollie is looking for an outdoorsy, active family who loves to get out and about and give him plenty of stimulation. Being a working breed, Ollie doesn’t like to lounge around all day, he has energy by the bucket load and needs to use it. He currently lives with two large dogs, and would wrestle all day if they let him. He gets along really well with his foster brothers and would love a home with another dog, but he would adapt either way. He loves his shell pool to splash and lay in during hot weather, and he is an avid swimmer.
Ollie is super sweet and kind, he loves to lick and snuggle, and when he hears the words ‘good boy’ he just wiggles his whole body with joy.
Ollie would prefer a home where somebody is home most of the day to keep him out of trouble and mentally stimulated. Like all pups, if left to his own devices he will make his own toys out of things you would prefer he didn’t. Give him a strong kong or a big bone and he will work away at that instead.
When Ollie arrived into foster care, he had some reactivity issues due to fear - he would bark and growl at strange people and dogs. As he has developed trust for his foster carer, he has made big improvements and is becoming confident that he doesn’t need to defend himself all the time. He requires an owner who is prepared to develop this trust with him, and continue to consistently train him. Ollie lives with two cats, who mostly keep out of the way of the bouncy puppy. He would be best suited to a home without pocket pets, unless his new family is prepared to be patient with the process of gradually exposing him.
Ollie would love an owner with experience owning a working breed, so as to best understand his needs. All that Ollie asks for is kindness and patience, and he will reward you with many years of loyalty, friendship and heaps of fun.
For more information or to meet Ollie, please contact his foster carer Freya on 0459739348 or fr3ydiddy@gmail.com. Ollie is located in Cessnock, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Ollie’s adoption fee is $550 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
