About Butch D0602 adopted 30/3/18
Butch is a very friendly boy who is most happy when he's in the company of his humans. He is very gentle around children and doesn't jump up. He's on the larger size of medium. Butch doesn't have an awful lot of training in place but takes treats gently from your hand, knows sit, and is learning some basic obedience such as waiting for his dinner. He can get a little over excited in the car but loves having his head out of the window! Also likes spending time indoors and is now toilet trained although he did mark his territory initially. He will benefit from a good chew toy or bone when you leave him alone, to keep him occupied. He loves soft toys! Hasn't hasn't tried to jump any fences. He will need a bit of ongoing training but is such a happy-go-lucky and sweet goofy boy we are sure his future owners won't mind helping him find his paws in his new home.
ENERGY LEVEL & REQUIREMENTS
Butch is an active breed so loves his walks, runs or plays at the dog park, and a good daily exercise will be essential in his new home. Initially when setting off on a walk he will pull on lead but soon settles; however he is quite a strong boy so a good harness and an owner used to energetic dogs will be an advantage. He is happy meeting dogs on his walks.
SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN:
Butch has a friendly temperament and in his foster home he's met little children and has been really good and quite gentle. He is however quite a good size dog so may not suit very young children unless they are used to dogs of his size and who are still learning about manners.
SUITABILITY TO DOGS AND CATS
Butch is dog social both with the other dog who visits his foster home and on walks. He loves a good play at the dog park. He has met the cats in his foster home and has seemed pretty disinterested, however he has been under control at these times and may chase cats when off lead, if they run. He is not good with chooks.
