About Deakin ~ Staffy x Lab (on trial 25/2/2018)
Hi! My name is Deakin and I'm a 4 month old Staffy x Lab. Cute on the outside, full of love on the inside. If your looking for a best mate and a cuddlepot then pick me!
I love to be with you and curl up in your lap or next to you. I am laid back and easy going. I was surrendered with my 2 siblings. Toilet training is going well and I sleep all night in my crate with no accidents. Just like with all other rescue dogs, you will need good fencing with no small gaps. I can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
I am very friendly with people. I live with 9 dogs, 3 cats, horses and chooks. I would love a friendly adult dog as a teacher, companion and playmate as I would be too lonely on my own. But it would also be good if someone in the household doesn't work full time.
I love to learn. I sit already, wait for permission to come in (most times). Learning down and come when called (most times). I would really benefit from more obedience training. As you might know, all dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
I don't guard my food and I let you take food away from me. My lead training is going well also. I'm teething at the moment but am very gentle and easily redirected. I just want a family to include me in their everyday life. Please be my forever home.
My sister Nala is also available for adoption.
As I am not yet desexed, I am only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because I'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I’m approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet me, please contact my foster mum Alisa on 0416 507070 or send the adoption questionnaire http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adoptquestionnaire.docx to azproudaz7@gmail.com. I am in foster care in Newcastle area.
Deakin's adoption fee is $500 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
