About Johnette (CaV17-225)
Johnette... yes, we'll be honest - when she first came into care, we thought she was a boy and named her John - when our mistake was realised a few days later, it seemed a bit late to change the name and so now, she's Johnette. Somehow it suits her perfectly and her name is just as unique as she is!
Johnette is a very confident, sociable, friendly, smoochy cat. She loves people and loves to be patted and has a passion for playing with toys in the cutest way that would make you think she was still a kitten. Many of the cats who come into our care are shy or timid, affected by bad experiences in the past or simply born that way. But not Johnette! She's a total social butterfly.
The one thing you very quickly notice when meeting Johnette in person is that she has a rather moth-eaten appearance about her coat (just another unique thing about her!) Some months ago, her family moved away and simply left her behind. She moved into a garden up the street and found a new food source, but the resident there didn't want a cat around. Being left behind by her family was devastating for Johnette and the stress caused her to begin pulling her hair out in clumps and severely over-grooming herself. During her time in foster care, the hair has been slowly growing back. It's a long process unfortunately so she still looks pretty rough round the edges! But with continued love and care in a new permanent home, Johnette will eventually regrow a full healthy coat and will look a bit more 'normal.'
The ideal home for this lady is one where she's the only feline around, as she's a bit of a bossy britches and isn't afraid to tell off the other cats in her foster home! She seems very tolerant of dogs so would likely be fine to live with a cat-friendly canine. She's a neat and tidy girl who is not at all fussy with food and is happy to be left alone while you go out to work (you have to work to pay for her food, after all!!)
There's something really awesome about Johnette. We hope we've conveyed it to you but if you're not convinced, please come and meet her so she can win you over!
*Located in Northam but can come to Perth for meets*
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
