About Tacco
I HAVE A MEET AND GREET THIS WEEKEND Tacco might fit into the "senior dog" category but no one bothered to tell him that. He's feeling great, living life to the fullest and isn't letting the years behind him slow him down. Check out his video!
Tacco is a tiny little guy at only 2kg but don't let that make you think he belongs in a handbag. This little fellow loves to have a play and enjoys running around the house checking out what everyone is up to.
He loves other dogs and wants to live in a home with another canine companion. He's always lived in a home with other dogs and puppies so he finds great comfort snuggling up for a cuddle at night. He could also live with a dog friendly cat, he needs a home with not to many stairs, he is a very small boy and would find them very hard to manage.
Tacco was surrendered because his elderly owner had a stroke. Unfortunately Tacco had a few health issues of his own but we've addressed those and he honestly is remarkably active and healthy for a thirteen year old dog.
Due to his size, we would not place Tacco in a home with small children, however he is a very sweet dog who loves everyone he meets.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant xrays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Tacco has low grade luxating patellas. We have done xrays and he does not require surgery. A good diet and joint supplement will benefit him. Tacco had dental disease when he came into care however he's had his teeth cleaned and is feeling much better.
