About Toby ~ 3 year old Cattle Dog X (on trial 7-4-18)
Just call me lover boy!
My name’s Toby and I’m a three year old Cattle dog cross and I have the best smile in the business.
I just love having company – long walks (usually I’m very good on the lead) and just lazing around - inside or out. I’m pretty smart – even smarter when you offer me treats. Sometimes, I can get a bit excited leaping around, but that just because I love being around people. (I’d probably be better sharing a house with adults or older children.)
I haven’t spent much time with other dogs lately; I’m the only dog at my current foster home so I’d have to meet another dog before I decided to share a home with them. Right now, I live with some chooks – they’re on the other side of the fence and not that interesting really; and a very large Ginger cat named Oscar. Oscar is definitely the boss here – sometimes I say I’d like to play but he reminds me that that’s not the deal – and I respect that.
I really love a good hug – I’d even sit on your knee if you let me.
I didn’t have a great start – my first family were pretty mean so sometimes I can frighten easily with loud noises or yelling. You’ll need good fences (or to play with me all day) because I’m pretty athletic and a low fence won’t stop me going for my own walk up the street. The really good news is that I’m not a digger or a random barker.
If you would like to meet him, please contact please contact Gillian on 0408 016 303 or email gillianweatherall@gmail.com. Toby is currently in care in Newcastle area.
Toby’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
