About Athena
She ain't nothin but a hound dog.
Athena is an absoulutely adorable little girl. She is incredibly well mannered for such a young pup. She has already mastered sit and is currently learning stay, shake and some other little tricks. She's such an intelligent and eager to please little darling that her foster Ma and Pa think she could do amazing things with some more tricky training.
Athena loves to snuggle up beside you on the couch and loves to hang about with you doing your day to day activities. She enjoys a car ride and bath time.
She loves her foster brother and kitty friends but really adores human company.
She walks beside you wherever you go and sits and waits when you stop.
Lots of positive reinforcement is the name of the game with Athena. She has a little bit of separation anxiety but that is being worked on and slowly but surely she is getting better with being alone. Athough she would suit a family environment where she can really be a part of the family and not left alone for too long everyday.
Athena has also already mastered toilet training. She will let you know when she needs to go outside with a little whine or by putting her paw on you. It only took a few hours for her to fiqure that out.
Athena is such a chilled out pup. A real snugglebug with a very loyal personality.
Athena would suit anyone looking for a loving, loyal and intelligent pup. Athena will need to be placed with another dog of a similar size and of the opposite sex. She would also be absolutely fine with other dogs, cats, birds etc.

ADOPTION:

Completing this application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc have a 10 day trial/settling period, if for any reason the pet needs to be returned, we will happily take them back into our care once a foster home is found and the adoption fee minus $50 (admin fee) will be returned via bank transfer within 5 working days. If the pet is returned after the trial period there will be no refund made.
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 10 day trial period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
