About Woody ~ Cattle Dog (on trial 22-4-2018)
Woody is a 15 month old male cattle dog in need of a carer or a new home.
Woody is an active young dog who would like an energetic family that are happy to take him out and about to the beach or park. He loves to swim, run, play fetch and just lives for the dog park where he can find some friends to play with.
Woody has had basic training and can sit, shake and come when called. He is good on lead. He is not a barker but does dig if bored, so would benefit from having a furry friend at home to play with.
Woody is a little timid and shy but when he gets to know you, adores a hug. He has been around people of all ages but we have discovered he is not too keen on middle-aged men. This could be a result of his previous experiences or he likes his men young. Woody does need to be allowed inside and be included in family time.
Woody is currently living with a cat and they get along well. He hasn’t been exposed to pocket pets so unsure how he would be around them.
He would suit a family with children 10 years and preferably someone home some of the time. Being a young dog, he wouldn’t suit full time workers without a doggy friend.
If you are interested in meeting Woody, please contact Sharron on 0423 331057 or sstudley3@bigpond.com who is taking all enquiries for him. He is located in Mayfield, Newcastle and is not available for adoption interstate.
Woody adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
