About Maggie
Sweet Maggie has spent most of her life on a chain, and we could not leave her there. She was surrendered to us, and now she is ready to start the rest of her life.
Maggie is looking for a family with older children and caring adults. Our behaviourist believes she has been hit in the past, but it doesn't take long for her to form a bond with people. She is not a fence jumper, and will need to be allowed inside as a member of the family.
Maggie will need some time to settle into her new families routine. Having lived her life outside alone means she can be nervous around new people. We would love her to go to a family who has experience with working dog breeds with a large yard for her to settle in to.
Our behaviourist has also had multiple sessions with Maggie, helping he get used to walking on a lead. He is willing to help out her new family with phone support and inclusion in our monthly training sessions.
During storms, Maggie can fret and would need to be allowed inside. We can provide a Thundershirt and our behaviourist can provide training to get her clam during storms.
Maggie is a smart girl who already knows how to sit, drop, cuddle, shake hands (left side only) and knows the command “into bed”. She does not dig or pull washing off the line/clothes airers.
We are looking for the perfect family for Maggie, one who is patent and willing to help her become the confident, loving girl we know she can be.
Medical notes
Maggie is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
