About Banjo ~ Kelpie X (on trial 2/3/2018)
Hi I’m the absolutely spunky Banjo. I’m a 6 week old male Kelpie x cuteness!!! I should grow up to be a medium doggy. I'm only little but I have a huge personality.
I get on great with other dogs and currently live with my 5 of my brothers and sisters and a 4yr old Blue Heeler who I love playing with. I am also growing up with 2 toddlers and a baby who I love giving kisses too and receiving heaps of cuddles and plenty of playtime.
I enjoy snuggling with you and following you and seeing what adventures we can go on. I sit back and take everything in but also can be spontaneous and have a burst of energy to wrestle and play. Having Kelpie in me though I need lots of playtime, running around and need to be kept busy. I travel very well in the car and sleep most of the time travelling when I find a comfy spot.
I am still working on toilet training and learning basic commands well. I’m starting to come to my name and I’m starting to sit when its tucker time too. But being a puppy all this will take time and I need your patience as I learn and thrive.
My foster mum thinks I’m going to be so super loyal for my right forever home. I reckon she would adopt me herself if she could! I like to stay close to you even when we are out and about I won’t go too far from you and happily lay at your feet. I’m very relaxed when I’m not playing and will just lay there with you.
I do enjoy being indoors but I love exploring outdoors as well and sometimes I prefer sleeping in my kennel too! I need to be able to spend quality time with you and someone home most of the day especially while Im only young. Another older doggy would be great as a mate too.
When it comes to walking on the lead I’m still learning the whole concept this but I follow the best I can. So be patient with me while I learn please. Puppy school training is a must for me, mum reckons I would really benefit from it as Im very smart but can be cheeky.
I reckon my ideal home needs to be full of love, fun, energy and cuddles!!! I like a few toys around to play with especially if you’re not home but would prefer someone home most of the time. I need an energetic home as I need to be exercised and played with heaps daily, go for runs and play at the beach and parks. I must have a lot of interaction otherwise I will get bored. We can go for a couple walks a day and throw the ball and I love tug o war. I need good high fencing, a warm dry place to sleep. I will reward you with smiles, licks, snuggles, loyalty, love and laughter.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
