About Jedda ~ Staffy x Mastiff (on trial 12/8/18)
Hi, my name is Jedda and I’m a 2 year old Staffy x Mastiff girl. My foster mum keeps saying that she can see a Rottweiler in me but I don’t really think she’s qualified to make such statements. I mean, just because she keeps liking pictures of dogs on social media, doesn’t make her a specialist in breeds. I do, however, have a beautiful and shiny black coat as well as cute floppy ears - so maybe she is a little bit right, what do you think?
I am not your average social butterfly. When I moved in with my foster parents I was very timid. Especially my foster dad seemed very scary and I hid from him for a while. But then he brought in the treats and let me tell you something, I love my food. So now foster dad and I are really good buddies and we hang on the lounge together. I even heard him talking about me on the phone, calling me a big sook. Not sure what it means but it must be a good thing, right?
Speaking of the lounge. That is one of my favourite places to chill. I love snuggles, belly rubs and scratches. I just like being close to my foster parents. I sleep next to their bed at night just to make sure that they are safe.
I’m not much of a barker but I make a great guard dog. When someone is at the door I will make sure to tell you about it. My foster parents work full time so I’ve been hanging in the back yard while they are out and I didn’t try digging up the garden or jumping the fences. When they come home I am so excited to see them and I do my crazy dance - there’s a lot of tail wagging and jumping from lounge to lounge.
After the excitement is gone, we go for a walk. I have learnt to wear my harness very quickly and I am very good on the lead. The good side of be being a bit scared of the world is that I like to walk close to mum so there’s not much pulling (and I can tell you I am a strong dog if I want to). I have met dog on my walks but I am not a huge fan to be honest. We have been getting help from one of the DRN trainers to help with my anxiety. I would however prefer to be an only dog.
I haven’t met many children yet but my foster mum thinks I would be more suitable for slightly older kids. I do like to say hello by putting my paws on your chest and even though I am very gentle, this could be a bit too much for the little ones. Cats and pocket pets are also a bit of a mystery as I haven’t met any of them before.
For more information or to meet me, please contact my carer Tennille on tennille_doherty@hotmail.com I am in foster care in Cessnock area, NSW and am available for adoption interstate.
My adoption fee is $350 and I am desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
