A lot of the cats and kittens at 2nd Chance Cat Rescue have a sad story to tell, but rarely more so than Clover.
Clover is a stunning (estimated) two-year-old female, medium-haired cat with a gorgeous red coat.
It was possibly by fate that Clover fell into the care of her foster mum, who is a vet nurse. Clover had never been to a vet before and was presented at the vet's in a dishevelled state, with the intention that she be euthanised… However, luckily the nurses had other ideas.
With a combination of physical examinations, blood tests, good nutrition, proper parasite control, desexing and cuddles, Clover now has a new lease on life! She is a sprightly and friendly cat with nothing but love to give.
The only special consideration is that Clover has food allergies – just as humans can. She was on a chicken based dry food diet and she was reacting to it - licking and scratching excessively and breaking out in a rash. Her diet was changed to a 'hypoallergenic' dry food and all symptoms stopped. She's now on a diet solely of this allergenic food and she’s’ thriving.
After all that Clover has been through she deserves a loving forever home where she will be pampered and cared for properly.
It seems she doesn't get on very well with othere cats. She does get on well with her foster mum's dogs though, and we feel that, given her loving nature, she will be fine with children as well.
