About Freddie ~ 4 month old Kelpie x (on trial 11/2/18)
Freddie: 4 month old Kelpie x. What an adorable and loving boy our little Freddie is! He is a stunning little boy with a lovely and loving nature. After a bit of a rough start to life, Freddie is coming along in leaps and bounds. He was saved from the pound just in time for Christmas. His siblings had all left and he was on his own; scared and lonely.
Being very intelligent, Freddie is quite easy to train. He already knows his name and the word, ‘Come’ and to sit when asked. He gets along well with his foster sister, Lola, and his carer says that he is already much smarter than her.
Freddie loves to be around people and he loves nothing more than sitting with his foster carers when they come home from work. He also loves other dogs. He has been exposed to many, although he does stand his ground, For this reason, he would need to meet any potential friends. Freddie loves children, however, due to his age, he can get over excited and it may be preferable for him to be around older children.
Being quite independent and living with two nine to five workers, Freddie has no problem being at home during the day with his foster sister. Walking on a lead, toilet training and learning commands are still works in progress. However, Freddie is very smart and a quick learner. Being a brave little guy, storms and fireworks do not worry Freddie at all. However, he would do well to learn a little more road sense. Being mostly Kelpie, Freddie loves to dig and climb, which is something to consider when looking for his permanent home. Another consideration is Freddie’s youth and intelligence which mean he needs someone committed to training, socialising and spending time with him and providing him with stimulus toys.
With his smooth coat that can easily be cared for with just a bath and the occasional brushing, Freddie is very low maintenance. Freddie would be happy as an only dog given plenty of love, attention and exercise, but wouldn’t mind sharing the love with other dogs in the home.
If you feel you can provide this deserving dog a loving, permanent home, please contact Nora on 0418 402 150 or email dogrescuemudgee@gmail.com. Freddie is in foster care in Dubbo, NSW.
Freddie will be de-sexed when he is old enough. He is vaccinated, free of fleas and worms and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
