Milo

*ON TRIAL* Milo is your quintessential Jack Russell; full of drive and so much fun! He is a big dog in a little dog’s body.

Milo loves to play ball, enjoys squeaky toys and is obsessed with his rubber chicken which he shakes intensely whilst making tough doggy noises as if he’s never quite sure when it will come back to life.

Milo is very, very intelligent and must have his needs met by someone who enjoys making a dog the central focus of their lives. Nothing you buy for him will be taken for granted; snuffle matts, Kongs, bones, tug toys, balls, stuffed animals - you name it, Milo will squeak it, chew it, tug it and generally make the most of the experience. His level of engagement is highly entertaining and the joy he emits at life’s little pleasures is contagious.

Milo is so smart that if not engaged, he will make his own fun. He has extinguish the life from one of my cushions, so it’s not always a wise choice. However, his previous owners tell me that he would push his ball down the stairs, chase it and catch it at the other end, over and over again.

Sometimes, if undestimulated, Milo reverts to obsessive behaviours like licking his legs or tail chasing but I believe that this will diminish once he achieves a balanced life.

Milo is a very loyal dog and doesn’t like to be without you. He will follow you dutifully around the park and loves to go on car trips.

This boy is good with other small dogs, though prefers to angage his people in games rather than his furry peers. If you own pocket pets, stock or cats he is not the pet for you, however. His Terrier drive is far too entrenched.

For a little guy, this kid can run for miles and is super fit, so I will be looking for a home where his physical requirements will be met.

Milo has transitioned from an outside dog to an inside dog with ease and has achieved about 80% toilet training consistency in a single week!

As an ex-flyball enthusiast, I can’t help thinking how much potential this boy has for competition sports - if you enjoy training; this is your guy.

However, his new owner will need to assist him in learning an off-switch. Milo can be calm, but takes a while to settle down after a game. I am more than happy to work with his new owners to achieve this.
