About Maisie
Laid back and very affectionate Maisie would suit just about any home. She loves her humans and will follow you around. Loves being a lap cat but equally lazing around wherever takes her fancy. She currently has taken a younger kitten under her wing - our little hand raised Sadie and gets along with the other cats without any problems at all. She was adopted last August by a wonderful family who loved and adored her but sadly one of their little girls became terribly and seriously allergic to her which was made worse because Maisie and the little girl had really bonded together. The family really did try everything and persevered for several months but it became clear as the allergy got worse they had to let her come back into care. Needless to say they were devastated. And so Maisie is once again looking for her forever home.
Medical notes
As a young kitten Maisie sustained a fracture to one of her hind legs which the owner failed to seek veterinary attention for but once in our care she underwent orthopaedic surgery to correct the problem at 5 months of age which was successful and now no one would know she once had a problem.
Adoption details
Before Adoption:
Before adopting a new pet, ensure all family members understand that a pet is an emotional and financial commitment that you need to be prepared to love, house and keep safe for the next 15 to 20 years. This means premium nutrition, preventative health care, regular veterinary check-ups and keeping them inside or only having access to a cat proof area or yard. Pet insurance with accident and illness cover gives you piece of mind knowing your pet can get the veterinary care they may need and you don’t have to worry about if the expense.
We start off by either emailing you our adoption questionnaire or having a chat on the phone to get some details about who you are and what you’re looking for in a feline companion. Next step is to organise a meet and greet. Depending on your location, we bring the feline/s to you or you can come and visit the orphanage. There is usually a 24hour wait from the meet and greet to collecting your new family member so everyone has a night to think things over and so you have a chance to get your home repaired. If all goes well and everyone is happy, the adoption paperwork is signed and you collect your new family member.
All adoptions are subject to a two week settling in period. If for any reason your new addition is not suited to your lifestyle, you are welcome to return them for a full refund of the adoption fee. All adoptions come with an adoption pack which contains all their certificates and paperwork, information on preventative health care, diet, pet insurance and potential toxins/poisons around the home.
After adoption, we continue to provide ongoing advice and support in order to help you care for your new family member. To find out more about any of our orphans, please contact Alexandria at Kittie Kat Rescue, after the settling period we will always take back the cat no questions asked.
