About Cocoa ~ 2 year old Kelpie (on trial 5/2/2018)
Cocoa is a 2 year old chocolate brown kelpie with bundles of love to give.
Cocoa has loads of energy so is suited to a family who can give him regular exercise. Amongst all his energy, he is gentle and loving with adults, children and other pets alike (he actually let a bird hitch a ride around the house on his back).
Cocoa is well trained and will sit and stay on command. He is so intelligent that he picks up other training with ease. Cocoa is currently crate trained at his carer’s house and learnt it all within 3 days!
Cocoa’s main vice is a Kong Wobbler, or other mentally stimulating toys to keep his brain active, but be warned this smart boy will figure them out within moments.
Cocoa has been living inside in his carer’s home and has proven to be house trained, yet he is equally happy roaming around outside exploring the backyard.
Cocoa would be your perfect mate if you are the type who likes a daily run or long walk. If you would be happy to have a beautiful furry face next to you whilst pottering around the house or relaxing on the couch he’s the dog for you. He won’t just be your dog, he’ll be your best friend and part of your family. And really, let’s be honest, who could say no to that face.
For more information or to meet Cocoa, please contact his foster carer Deborah on rdbenseman@gmail.com. Cocoa is in foster care in Raymond Terrace NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Cocoa’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
