About Beau
Ive been waiting for a very long time, I arrived at 6 months old after my owners dumped me in a vet clinic to be killed, and now we are counting on over 4 months of me being in care.
I have met many families, and they all seem to love me and then they change their mind last minute. I promise I haven't done anything naughty when I see them. I am on my best manners, I wait for cuddles and I am friendly with all of their dogs and kids they bring with them.
But still, no one has fallen for me yet. My foster mum has been making sure I remember my growing size. I sometimes forget, they call that the Dane syndrome.
I'm over 40kg now, so my new family needs to be looking for a large addition to both the family and the lounge. They need to be confident with a dog my size as sometimes I forget how large I truly am.
I love other dogs, of all sizes ages and shapes. I am currently in foster care with a bossy female and I like that she tells me what to do. She keeps me in line, but secretly she adores me. We play all day and I also love to find the mud puddles and roll around in those too. They're fun!
I would do great in a home with another playful dog, someone who is looking for both a companion and a play mate.
I am in a foster home with a few felines too, and I am social with those. Sometimes I get puppy excited and I will chase but I never intend to hurt. They are just small dogs for me to play with though aren't they?
I am social with kids, but due to my size I sometimes forget that they can't handle my lean. So dog savvy and stable confident kids with large dogs is best suited to me.
I will need to be allowed inside with my new family, I truly love family time.
Secure and safe fencing over 5ft is best suited to me, to keep me safe in my new yard. I may also suit rural fencing but I would probably need some boundary training with that as I may forget where I can and cannot go.
I haven't met any livestock, pocket pets, poultry or birds so we can't say how I would go in a home with any of these.
I am located in the Newcastle area and I am READY to go to my new home now. My adoption fee is $400 and you get a whole lot of dog for that!
Adoption details
In the ENQUIRY SECTION please explain in LENGTH some basics about yourself/ your life/ your household and what type of life you can provide for one of our rescue animals.
If successful, you would be contacted by phone, where we will talk about your enquiry and potentially organise a meet and greet between you/ your dogs/ your family and the potential candidate
From there, you can either take your animal with you if the meet and greet was successful and their vet work has been completed- or if the vet work hasn't been completed, you must wait until it's finished before taking your new friend home which will be organised between yourself and the foster carer.
Every animal has a 2 week trial period.
